Following months of delays, Hong Kong’s first live auctions of 2020 took place in early July, days before the city tightened public-gathering restrictions amid a third wave of Covid-19 cases. With mandatory quarantines and entry bans still in effect, most lots were purchased by remote bidders. While Sotheby’s and Phillips enjoyed robust sales, results were mixed for other houses.
